Lash FAQs
What are lash extensions and how are they applied?
Eyelash extensions are individual faux-mink lashes applied directly to a single natural lash. The faux lashes are applied with a safe professional-grade glue that is waterproof and specially made for use around the eyes (though the glue will never touch your skin). Afterward, you will be left with a beautiful full set of eyelashes, giving you a stunning no-makeup, make-up look with smudge-proof, water-proof lashes.
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
Lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes when applied properly. We strive to maintain the integrity of your natural lashes, so faux lashes should not be a "one-size" fits all. We take into consideration the weight, length, and thickness of both your natural lash and the faux lash to ensure the proper application and health of your lashes.
How often will I need a lash fill?
Everyone is different, but on average, we shed 1-5 natural lashes a day. Maintaining your new lashes with fills every 2-4 weeks will ensure beautiful long-lasting results. A full-set without fills will last for as long as your natural lash cycle, usually about 4-6 weeks.
How do I prepare for my lash appointment?
Please come to your appointment ready to relax, with clean, makeup-free, ready-to-lash eyelashes. Contacts will need to be removed before service.
What are the after-care expectations for lash extensions?
Please avoid getting the lashes wet for 12-24 hours, especially avoid any hot, long, and/or steamy showers, saunas, hot tubs, workouts (hot yoga), etc. for the first 24 hours.
How do I keep my lashes well maintained?
Brush your lashes 1-3 times a day to keep them in the correct position. Avoid playing with or rubbing/tugging/pulling on your lashes as this can cause them to fall out prematurely and cause breakage of your natural lashes. If you sleep with an eye mask, choose a lash-extension-safe eye mask to avoid the rubbing and potential breakage caused by a traditional sleep eye mask. Avoid any oil-based face products as this weakens the bonds in the glue and can cause fallout. Use lint-free face and/or makeup wipes. It is also best to wash your lashes at least once a day. You may do so with a foaming lash extension cleanser and a soft cleansing brush to gently remove any oils that build up from the eyelids in the space between the extension and the eyelid. We have lash-safe sleep masks, oil-free & lash extension-safe cleansers/make-up removers, and cleaning brushes available for purchase in the salon!
Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?
Yes! Although you should not use traditional mascaras as they tend to be oil-based, which will weaken the bonds in the lash glue and may cause premature fallout. Instead, if you choose to use mascara, use an extension-safe mascara, which can be purchased in our salon. Also, avoid the use of an eyelash curler. Use lint-free face/makeup wipes to remove makeup and do so gently. Avoid oil-based face cleansers and face products. We have extension-safe cleansers/make-up removers and lash extension cleaning brushes available for purchase in our salon.
